Springfield

The canopy of ancient cypress and silky oak (Grevillea robusta) trees lead to this Tudor style residence which set the scene for AGD's homage to classic elegance and a garden styled with a sense of timeless tradition.

The front garden with tennis court and lawns is used as the family's play space and caters for relaxed entertaining with a verdant backdrop of exuberant and lush foliage.  Lawns provide a cool area for games and a restful, velvet carpet of green for the eye.

Red brick garden walls complement the home, while bluestone capping is refined and stylish.  Walled alcoves furnished with timber seats overlook the fountain, providing shady places for rest and for the clients to watch their young children while they play.

The delicate canopy of Japanese maples shade the massed, evergreen plantings of Hebe 'Snowdrift', & N.Z. rock lilies which burst into a sea of white flowers in spring, summer and autumn.

The glorious architecture of the poolside conservatory designed by architect Pauline Hurren is softened by classic, charcoal coloured French pots planted with Viburnum tinus and standard clipped bay trees.  A simplified planting palette and careful selection of materials define the elegance of the garden.

A series of terraced patios overlooking the swimming pool accommodate outdoor living and family BBQ's. Red brick paving is laid in a traditional herringbone pattern, and is bordered with bluestone, providing a classic contrast and the effect of a textured carpet.

Dense hedges of Murraya line the boundary walls and offer privacy with dwarf agapanthus and mondo grass planted to soften the bluestone capped walls.  The architectural form of rich green cycads provide textural contrast and complete the robust elegance of the low maintenance planting scheme.

This well defined garden defies rigid formality and exudes classic character. The water feature positioned at the end of the swimming pool is framed by red brick walls and upright conifers to provide vertical accent. Uplighting is used to highlight the shimmering effect of water trickling from a custom-made glazed urn.  Classic oversized pots reinforce the bold use of charcoal colours used in the garden and are backlit to create a glowing effect.

Good design together with excellent workmanship, attention to detail and a long standing working relationship between AGD & Phil Rogers experienced team at PavePlus Landscaping, has produced a garden of great beauty that enhances the client's home aesthetically as well as functionally.
